10 Great Ways to Use Everything Bagel Seasoning

A few years ago we know that the “Everything Bagel” seasoning from Trader Joe’s became quite the phenomenon and thanks to it, avocado toast has never been better! It’s something that once you have, it goes so great on everything, you wonder how you used to live without the treasured seasoning blend in your cupboard before!

Even if you don’t live by a Trader Joe’s, it’s no big deal because it seems every grocery store now carries it with various brands making the same blend. The great news is that it’s incredibly easy and cheap to make at home too! Today I will share the simple recipe to make one cup of the blend at the bottom. I also wanted to share tons of ways to use it (besides avocado toast!).

So without further ado, here are 10 ways to use Everything Bagel Seasoning:

1. Garlic Knots or Breadsticks

It is so great to top your favorite breadsticks recipe (or even store bought dough) with a sprinkling of this seasoning blend. I think it would be such a particularly good addition to a meal like salmon.

2. “Breakfast” Bagel Pizza

Start with a premade pizza crust and add melted butter and Everything Bagel seasoning to the outside edge of the pizza crust. Bake all the way, then when cooled, add a layer of whipped cream cheese, thinly sliced smoked salmon, avocado slices, red onion slices, fresh chives and Everything bagel seasoning and have pizza for breakfast with all your favorite bagel flavors!

3. Salmon

This seasoning, as you can imagine because they are always simultaneously used together for NY-style bagels, goes fantastic on salmon. Use it to make a salmon salad or “sushi”-type salmon bowl with rice.

4. Homemade Chips or Fries

This seasoning is so great to season homemade thick-cut chips or fries. Of course it’d be great heating up something like frozen tater tots or frozen fries as a side dish on a busy weeknight meal too. The chips are particularly great dipped in a sour cream/green onion or even ranch dip.

5. Breaded Chicken Strips

Use Everything Bagel seasoning with your breadcrumbs next time you make your own chicken tenders or nuggets at home.

6. Everything Bagel Butter

Mix the seasoning with softened butter to have a beautifully flavored butter to add to anything from steamed veggies to bagels or toast.

7. Grilled Cheese

Add it to the buttered outside of a classic grilled cheese sandwich, or another homemade grilled sandwich like a reuben.

8. Grilled Corn on the Cob

Grill your corn on the cob and top it with a mixture of whipped cream cheese and everything bagel seasoning and top it with sliced green onions. Delicious!

9. Homemade Mozzarella Sticks

Making your own mozzarella sticks is such an easy appetizer and side and tastes even better when adding this seasoning.

10. Morning Eggs or Egg Casserole

This is definitely the most common way I use my Everything Bagel seasoning is to top my eggs, whether scrambled or fried. It would be such a great addition to your favorite egg morning casserole as well.

As a bonus, you’ll have to check out my other article this week to find the most heavenly recipe for Everything Bagel carbonara with pastrami and capers. It is seriously SO GOOD!
