Serves: 8

These deliciously different treats taste just like caramel apples. The original recipe was fried in oil, but these are lighter, healthier, and better tasting.

Ingredients:

2 medium tart apples, peeled
32 wonton wrappers
cinnamon, to sprinkle on each
8 tablespoons butter
1 egg, beat to mix
1 tablespoon water
1 (12-ounce) jar caramel ice cream topping, warmed

Directions:

Cut each apple into four wedges; cut wedges into four pieces. Place a piece of apple in the center of each wonton wrapper. Sprinkle each apple piece with cinnamon. Cut butter stick into tablespoons, then quarter each tablespoon. Add one butter quarter to apple. Brush edges of wrapper with water and bring up around apple; pinch to seal. Place on baking pan, covered with parchment paper (or sprayed well with vegetable spray). Add 1 tablespoon water to egg and mix with fork. Brush egg mixture on each bundle.
