I love that and just wanted you to know how much we appreciate all your hard work in putting together this newsletter. Thank you very much.

"Moose Poop" Cookies

I thought you might be interested in knowing I have created a "Moose Poop Cookie" recipe in honor of Sarah Palin, which, coincidentally, features a Kellogg's cereal.

Nancy Eisenhart

Moose Poop Cookies
In Honor of Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska and the 2008 Republican Nominee for Vice President

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

2 c. plain flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. Kellogg’s Cracklin’ Oat Bran cereal, slightly broken up
1 c. Rice Krispies
1/2 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped pecans

(Electric mixer method) Using wire whip, cream butter and shortening. Add brown sugar, eggs, sugar and vanilla and mix until well blended and fluffy. Add flour sifted with baking powder and soda. Change from wire whip to flat beater. Add oatmeal bran. Mix slowly until blended. Add Rice Krispies, chocolate chips and pecans. Slowly mix well. Drop by large spoonfuls (such as an ice cream scoop) on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 12-18 or more minutes (depending on size) at 250 degrees F. The cookies spread out at this lower than usual temperature. Cool on cookie sheet several minutes – at leave 5 - until cracks start forming. If cookies are touching, use sharp blade to separate. Once cookies are cool and can be lifted without falling apart, use large spatula to remove to racks for final cooling.. Serve on trays. These are delicious and were introduced on the eve of Sarah Palin’s nomination. We love Sarah!
