Homemade Chili Seasoning Mix

I like to make my own seasoning mixes. This Chili Seasoning is one that I use all the time, in red or white chili. Use the freshest spices for the best flavor. It doesn't have a lot of heat, so if I want more, add a minced jalapeno pepper, or increase the cayenne pepper.

Yield: Seasoning for 12 pots of chili (2 Tablespoons per pot)

Ingredients:

3/4 cup chili powder
1/4 cup ground cumin
1/4 cup salt
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 tablespoon ground cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon ground black pepper

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together.

Use 2 tablespoons of this homemade chili seasoning to make your chili.

Store in an air tight container in a cool dark place.

This recipe makes 12 pots of chili.
