How do you like your eggs?

I enjoyed reading this issue of the newsletter so much. Desi does such a GREAT job! She puts a lot of heart into it. If you get a chance, please send her an e-mail message and tell her thanks.

As I read the Eggs - Not Just For Easter article it reminded me of my great grandfather Mieszkowski. He ate two soft-boiled eggs for breakfast every single day for 88 years.

He had great health too! In fact, he never went to the doctor. He refused to go. He said that the day he went to the doctor was the day he would die...and it was.

I was in a hurry but I figured I better call my Mom to make sure I had the story right...thirty minutes later and I was still on the phone. I heard more family "egg stories" than I ever knew existed.

As it turns out, her Dad would often crack a raw egg in a beer and drink it. Nobody really knows why...

When my mom and dad were first married, she would wake up every morning to make eggs for him. He was serving in the military at the time which meant that she had to get up at 4:00am most mornings.

If that wasn't enough, apparently, he was pretty finicky about his eggs too. He liked them fried over easy. If the yoke cracked, he wouldn't eat it. So, rather than waste the egg, she ate it. But, when she was pregnant, choking down those runny eggs at 4:00am makes her queasy just thinking about it. I always wondered how she got so good at frying eggs!

So, this month's poll question is "how do you like your eggs?" It's a tough question for me because I love fried eggs but I really love an omlet with all the fixings too. Choose your favorite, cast your vote, and make your voice heard!

Have a great month!

Dan
