Cook'n Club Forum

A note of thanks for.....everything! I received a CD as a gift 2 years ago, and have enjoyed the recipes and the info on the website. I've entered many of my own favorite recipes as well. From the technical side, the program is so thoughtfully written and easy to use; very intuitive. I recently decided to install the CD on a laptop to use in the kitchen. I visited the tech support section of your website, and was able to fix everything with out having to call you, and without having to mutter bad words under my breath! You do an outstanding job of offering a useful product at a reasonable price, and backing it up with a commitment to excellence!

Sincerely,
Trish O'Reilly

Email Socket Errors

A few users may receive a "socket error" when attempting to email from within Cook'n. Socket errors mean that the port Cook'n is trying to access is being blocked or used by another program(also some isps such as AOL block 3rd party applications)

If this happens do the following:

If you continue to get socket errors try the following:

  2. Click on the View Tab
  3. Use your mouse to highlight the recipe

  5. Use your e-mail software to send a new e-mail message and...
  6. Right-click in the body of the message and choose Paste.

If you wish to send multiple recipes
  1. Drag and drop the recipes into the 'recipes I want to print' category.
  2. Click the print button
  3. Select the "print to text file" option in the print setup window.
  4. Save the file to your computer
  5. Attach the saved file to your email.
  6. This file will be able to be opened by any word processor.

If you are sending recipes to someone who will be putting them into Cook'n:
(This can be done with or without socket errors)
  1. Select the cookbook you would like to send
  2. click file > export > cookn recipe file.
  3. Name and save the file to your desktop,
  4. attach it to an email and send it.
