"Do you know if you can cook London Broil in the crockpot?" --Laura Meyers

Did you know that a London Broil is actually the name of a recipe and not the cut of meat? Even though it is labeled as London Broil in the supermarket, this cut of meat is actually a flank steak. Cooking methods for flank steak include broiling, braising, and pan-frying. What this means is that you can cook it in the crock-pot (braising). Brown the steak in oil, drain, season, and transfer it to the crock-pot. Add no liquid unless cooking with vegetables . . . the meat/crock-pot combo will generate enough moisture for braising. Cook on high for 4-6 hours or on low for 8-10 hours.
