A note of thanks for.....everything! I received a CD as a gift 2 years ago, and have enjoyed the recipes and the info on the website. I've entered many of my own favorite recipes as well. From the technical side, the program is so thoughtfully written and easy to use; very intuitive. I recently decided to install the CD on a laptop to use in the kitchen. I visited the tech support section of your website, and was able to fix everything with out having to call you, and without having to mutter bad words under my breath! You do an outstanding job of offering a useful product at a reasonable price, and backing it up with a commitment to excellence!

Sincerely,
Trish O'Reilly

MASTERCOOK

Note: The following information is only applicable to Cook'n Versions 8.2 and under. We are still working to make this process available for Version 10.

Cook'n can import files which have been exported from Mastercook. This process was optimized for Mastercook version 6. Many users have had success with previous versions, however some recipes may not work due to changes in Mastercook's export format.

To export files from Mastercook in the form that Cook'n is able to
receive them, they must be in text format. To do this:
  1. Open up Mastercook
  2. Open a cookbook
  3. Select all recipes you want to export NOTE:(to select all just click on edit, select all
  4. If you want to select multiple files just click on one and hold down your ctrl key and click on another)
  5. Then click on file, export & mail
  6. Make sure text file is selected
  7. Then put a name in the single file field, and click on export
  8. You should then be able to go into Cook'n and import those recipes
**Mastercook is not always consistent with its export format.
It is best to move recipes over in chunks or cookbooks.
Some recipes may cause cookn to crash. If you can identify these recipes remove them and they can be entered by hand.
I recommend making a backup of cookn between imports (this is done using the file menu)
