Sound Bites of Political Wisdom

A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man, which debt he proposes to pay off with your money.
      -- G. Gordon Liddy

A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.
     -- George Bernard Shaw

Foreign aid might be defined as a transfer from poor people in rich countries to rich people in poor countries.

Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to give at the expense of everybody else.

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Dear Friends,

The State Convention is only a few days away and I feel a real sense of urgency. I need you to help me spread the word.

As many of you know, I've been spending 6 hours a night for the last couple weeks hosting these Town Hall events all over Utah. The response has been phenomenal and it has been refreshing for me to meet so many kindred spirits. I have been pleasantly surprised to discover that the majority of the people out there feel the same way that you and I do.

At the end of my Town Hall meetings, I ask people if I can count on their vote and about 9 out of every 10 people who attend say "YES, you've got my vote!" The only problem is that I haven't been able to reach as many of the delegates as I would like and time is running out. That's where I need your help.

Would you be willing to call or e-mail 10 other State Delegates to just say "hi there...I'm a State Delegate too and I'm just calling to say that I met Dan Oaks and he earned my vote. I believe he's the right choice for Governor of Utah. Please consider voting for Dan. Thank you...Have a great evening!" If each of you did this, we could reach everyone before the Convention. This one grass roots effort would turn the tide on Herbert and his big money friends and send a message to everyone in government!

If you are willing to make 10 phone calls or send 10 e-mail messages, please send contact info@danoaks.com and I will send you a list of 10 names of people to contact. This is truly "government of the people, by the people, for the people" in action!

Best wishes,

Dan Oaks
Utah's Next Governor
