Meet Dan Oaks

Dan Oaks

One of the reasons Dan Oaks is so passionate about the Constitution, Capitalism, and the Free Market System is because he has truly lived the American Dream. Dan founded DVO Enterprises in a spare bedroom in March of 1992. As a student at Brigham Young University with one computer, little capital, and no connections, Dan set out with the goal of creating quality software products to strengthen families.

Dan faced a wide variety of difficult challenges but faith, perseverance, and hard work eventually paid off. He overcame all odds and achieved amazing success. He formed strategic alliances with companies like Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, and Kellogg's. He established distribution through retailers like Sam's Club, Walmart, Costco, and the Home Shopping Network. His software has become the #1 best-selling with over a million copies sold. And, with a website that gets 10,000 unique visitors per day, he has established a strong presence on the internet.

Dan has never held political office before, but rather than a weakness, he considers that to be a strength. "We need successful people from the private sector who understand the free market system to fix our economy and restore our Constitution" he has often said.

Dan grew up in Troy, Michigan. He is an Eagle Scout. He played quarterback and was the captain of his football and basketball team. He served a two year mission in the Dominican Republic. Dan graduated from BYU in Computer Science in 1994.

Dan and his wife, Kathy, have five children. He enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and spending time with his family.
