Give-Aways

I have spent the last 2 hours reading your newsletter and wonderful recipes. I have already printed a whole bunch I want to try. I love them because they are using ingredients one has on hand. I love that and just wanted you to know how much we appreciate all your hard work in putting together this newsletter. Thank you very much.

Bread Sticks

Serves: 10

  Download this recipe.

2 cups warm water
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons melted butter or oil
1 tablespoon yeast
4 1/2 cups bread flour or more if needed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup melted butter

Toppings:
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon parsley or sweet basil flakes
Salad supreme or veggie supreme
Garlic salt

Combine water, sugar and butter in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle in yeast and let it dissolve. Add salt, using more if your bread sticks are going to be plain. Add enough flour to clean the sides of the bowl as you stir. Put on a well-floured bread board and knead until smooth. Spray a large cookie sheet with non-stick vegetable spray. Put the dough on the pan and press it with your fingers until it fills the cookie sheet.

Spread melted butter on top. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough in half the long way, then cut 9 times across to give you 20 bread sticks. Sprinkle with your choice of toppings listed above. Let raise until double. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until done.
