My question is this; can I pressure cook frozen split chicken breasts in the pressure cooker? I have always thawed them some in the microwave, but wondered if cooking them from the frozen state would turn out well. If so, how many minutes per breast or per pound?
Yes you can cook chicken from the frozen state. I do this frequently because I forget to thaw the chicken so often. Here is the guide I use to determine overall cooking time:
When cooking frozen chicken, add 1 minute for parts and 1 minute per pound for a whole bird. Frozen Turkey? Add 4 minutes per inch of thickness.
POULTRY: Naturally release pressure for time indicated; then quick release remaining pressure.
