4-Minute Microwave Play Dough

By Bethany Booth

This recipe for fun will send away summer-time boredom and keep little hands busy. It takes less than 5 minutes to nuke up some fun for the kids.

Throw cookie cutters, straws, toothpicks, safety scissors, or plastic utensils out on the table to add to the hours of creative fun.

Microwave Play Dough

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
2 cups water
2 cups oil

Optional: for a bright color and fruity scent, use 1-2 envelopes of sugar-free flavored drink mix

In a large microwave safe bowl, combine flour, salt, cream of tartar and drink mix. Add water and oil and mix well. Cook in microwave for 4 minutes, stopping every 40 seconds or so to stir until a ball forms then return to microwave and repeat for a total of 4 minutes. Let cool before handling.

Store in refrigerator or in an airtight container for days of doughy fun.
