"Built-In" Vegetable Dressing

When steaming veggies, especially green veggies, take half a bay leaf and wet it in about a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. The acid will convert and activate ingredients in the bay leaf. Now put the 'cidered' bay leaf in the water in the bottom of the steamer. A very nice aroma will be produced, and it will permeate the veggies. Almost like a built in dressing. The effect is quite remarkable.
