Serves: 6
Prep Time: Ready in 1 hour
Carbohydrate Count: 11g per serving
1 cup cubed ham
1/4 cup celery, finely diced
1 cup water
1 cup chicken broth
1 (15-ounce) can black beans
1/4 cup tiny carrots, diced
2 teaspoons minced onions
1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1. In a medium sauce pan brown the ham. Add 1 cup of water and scrape glaze off bottom of pan. Add chicken broth.
2. Drain the water from the can of beans. Add beans to the sauce pan.
3. Add all other ingredients. Stir. Bring to a boil; turn down heat and simmer for at least 1 hour to bring out the flavors -- the longer, the better (2+ hours being best.)

I recently purchased your Cook'n Recipe Organizer and love it! I have tried several other cookbook programs but found them unsatisfactory.
My main goal was to put my own recipes into a system that was easy and quick. I have put in about 20 so far, and I love it. It is so easy to use.
I have tried several of your recipes and they all have been wonderful!
Thank you!!
