Peaches in the Freezer

I cleaned out my freezer and on the bottom I found several packages of frozen peaches which I had frozen fresh in 2005. Because I used abscorbic acid the color is still great and they taste great, but are they safe to use? Thanks.

Winnie

Hi Winnie,

The peaches are safe to use. Over time, they will lose nutrient value and their quality declines, but they still are safe to eat. Sounds like your peaches survived the cold pretty well if they have still retained their color and flavor.

Hope this helps,

Desi
