Gwen's Swiss Pie

My mother made this often when I was a child and now my family loves it too. We like it for brunch or for a light supper.

Swiss Pie
Serves: 6

1 unbaked 9 in pie shell
6 slices bacon
1 cup chopped onions
8 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
2 slightly beaten eggs
3/4 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shredded American cheese

Cook bacon until crisp, drain and crumble.  Pour off fat; add onion and cook until tender but not brown.  Combine bacon, onion, Swiss cheese, eggs, sour cream, salt and dash pepper.  Pour into pie shell.  Sprinkle with American cheese.

Bake 25 minutes 375 (or until knife inserted comes out clean).  Let rest 5-10 min before cutting.
