Honey Gingerbread--A Christmas Treat!

I wanted to share a recipe that me wife uses every Christmas.  There is nothing nicer than the scent of ginger throughout the house.

--Frank Melan

Honey Gingerbread

1 Cup Honey
½ Cup Butter (or margarine), softened
½ Cup Brown Sugar
2 Eggs, beaten
2 ½ Cups Flour, sifted
4 tsp. Baking Powder
1 ½ tsp Soda
½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Allspice
½ tsp Cloves
½ tsp Nutmeg
1 Cup Hot Water

Blend honey, butter, and brown sugar. Beat in eggs.  Sift together dry ingredients and gradually stir into honey-egg mixture. Then gradually add hot water. Beat mixture thoroughly. Pour batter into greased baking dish or pan and bake in 350 degree oven 30-40 minutes, or until test done.   Makes 2 loves if using bread pans.
