Updating Cook'n

DVO is currently on v8.2. Updates are free within the version for registered users.
Updates are released about once a month.
Updates will include additional features, improvements and fixes.
You can verify which version you have installed by doing the following:
Open Cook'n and select help > about from the dropdown menus.
The full version will be on the first line under the picture.

To update your software do the following:
Open Cook’n and select internet > update > update now from the drop down menus.
Cook'n will then conect to the update server and download the updates
If Cookn'n does not close by itself exit out of Cook'n after the updates download
Cookn'n will then install the updates.

Error connecting to update server
If you receive an error trying to update do the following:
Open Cook'n and select internet > update > manual update button.
This will take you to a web page
Click on the link and save the update patch to your desktop.
After the update patch has downloaded close Cook'n. Then run the update patch.
(if you have Vista, right click on the update patch and choose 'run as administrator')

Upgrading to v8.2

If you have an older version of Cook'n we strongly recommend upgrading to version 8. Version 8 has many new capabilities and is will work with Vista and 64 bit processors. Version 8 is also supported by updates and tech support.

Version 8 will accept backup and imports from older versions of Cook'n. If you are upgrading and concerned about losing your recipes make a backup before upgrading. (file > backup)

If you are upgrading using a cd you should be able to put the cd and Cook'n will upgrade automatically. If the autorun on the cd does not install v8 do the following:
Insert the cd and stop any autorun process.
Close Cook'n. Then go to the my computer.
Right click on the cd/dvd drive and choose explore.
Run the file named setup.exe.(if you have Vista right click on the setup.exe file and choose 'run as administrator')
*if told that 'recipe data already exists, do you want to overwrite' CHOOSE NO.
