SMART Ideas!

Kitchen Life Made Easier!

Purchase meat in bulk and as soon as you get home separate it into freezer bags in portions for four. Then, fill each bag with a different marinade: rosemary sprigs, or sage, or even cut lemons, and some get orange juice. Then, when you're having meat for dinner, put one of these bags in the fridge the night before. The next morning...voila, it's defrosted and marinated by evening. All you have to do is pour the contents in a pan and throw it in the oven. Smart, huh?



Room Temperature

To bring butter or margarine to room temperature quickly, use a grater to shred it into your mixing bowl. Smart and easy, huh?



Potato Salad

To save time when making potato salad, use a pastry blender to chop the peeled cooked potatoes and hard boiled eggs. Smart, huh?



Spaghetti Sauce

To save pot-watching and burning of the bottom of the pots when making spaghetti sauce, place your sauce in an oven safe dish and place in the oven-no higher than 300 degrees. It can be left to cook slowly for hours without burning-just stir every now and then. REALLY smart, huh?
