Give-Aways

I have spent the last 2 hours reading your newsletter and wonderful recipes. I have already printed a whole bunch I want to try. I love them because they are using ingredients one has on hand. I love that and just wanted you to know how much we appreciate all your hard work in putting together this newsletter. Thank you very much.

Old Church Family Recipes
Notes from Folks...

Hello DVO,

Dan, I started out with the original Cookin', went to Cook'n 99, 2000, etc. This is thru 3 computer changes and building my own chapter. (Which I lost during this last computer change). They are all backed up on recipe cards, just not in Cookin' any more.

I was impressed in '98 when I got my first CD, and continue to use it all the time. I am cooking for only one now, being widowed. You have some of the best recipes I have ever found.

I used to be a cookbook collector. I have an idea for a new CD. Don't know if it has been done yet or not. A collection of old comfort food recipes, from Amish country, old church family recipes, the kind you find in books from area churches or fundraisers. Not redone, as they were. Just my idea.

Thankyou for a wonderful product,

Candy Clark, Byron, WY

Hello Candy,

It's great to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to send this message. And thank you for being such a faithful Cook'n customer all these years!!

I really like your new idea for a Cook'n CD. You remind me of two great gals named Linda & Kitty who have been having fun in the Cook'n Forum. Here is a related comment from Kitty that brought a smile to my face:

I like the very old recipes that say things like 'add enough flour to get a good elastic bread dough' and 'put it in a quick oven till done' they just assumed you knew what good elastic bread dough felt like and just how hot a quick oven was, and what constitutes done.) But I love to search the new recipes; can't do that with the old books.

If you haven't joined the forum, you should do so right away. You'll love it!

In the mean time, I'll see if I can't put the Cook'n touch on some old church family cookbooks.

Dan
