Simple Cookie Solution

“No matter what I do my cookies always come out flat.  Any suggestions?”

Hi Gail,
My mom taught me one simple solution to your flat cookie problem. Use shortening instead of butter or margarine --an equal amount. Shortening will produce a fluffier and lighter cookie. I tried this with some oatmeal raisin cookies last night and they were fabulous! However, overall it really depends on the recipe of the cookie you are making; some are just meant to be flat
