Marinating Times

A recipe calls for the marinating of the wings and putting them in the sauce. It then says to marinate in the fridge for 5 days. Is that possible or is it too long of a time?

Harry Haney

Hi Harry,

I'd marinate for 5 to 24 hours.  Unless it's a really unique recipe, most marinades make chicken soggy if marinated too long.  Two hours for flavor and up to 24 for tenderness is the rule of thumb I stick to when marinating meat.

Hope this helps,

Desi @ DVO
