Pick-Apart Bacon-Ranch Bread Ring

12 bacon strips, diced
1 (1-pound) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 (1-ounce) package ranch salad dressing mix
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


Cook bacon over medium heat until partially cooked; drain. Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Brush with 1 tablespoon oil. Cut into 1-inch pieces, and put in large bowl with bacon, dressing mix, cheese, and remaining oil; mix well. Arrange pieces in a 9-inch oval on a greased cookie sheet, layering if needed. Cover and let rise in a warm place 30 minutes, until doubled.

Bake in 350° oven 15 minutes, then cover with foil and bake 5–10 minutes longer, till golden brown.
