French Stew

2 pounds beef round steaks, cubed
6 carrots, peeled and thinly sliced
1 onion, sliced into rings
1 cup chopped celery
1 (4-ounce) can mushrooms, drained
1 (16-ounce) can tomato, drained
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon rosemary
1/8 teaspoon thyme
1/8 teaspoon marjoram
salt to taste
2 slices bread, cubed
1 (10-ounce) package frozen green beans
1/2 cup red wine, heated


Combine first 12 ingredients in a Dutch oven; mix well. Bake at 250° for 3 1/2 hours. Add beans; bake 30 minutes. Stir in wine just before serving.
