Recipe: Addictive Amish Applesauce Cake

Ingredients:

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 cups sugar
1 egg
2 cups applesauce
1/2 cup water
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup raisins
1 cup frozen cherries, thawed & halved

Directions:

1) Preheat the oven to 350°F. Generously grease a bundt pan.

2) Cream together butter and sugar.

3) Add egg, applesauce, and water.

4) Add the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon.

5) Gently stir in walnuts, raisins, and cherry halves.

6) Pour into a bundt pan. Bake for 1 hour or until a knife inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
