The origin of pralines dates back to eighteenth-century France when a chef employed by the French marshal and diplomat Cesar du Plessis-Praslin (pronounced PRAH-lin) created a recipe for coating almonds in sugar. The confection was named after Marshal Praslin, and his chef has been all but forgotten. In New Orleans, pralines are made with pecans. After one taste of this sensational smoothie, I think you’ll agree with me that pralines and blueberries are a perfect match.
2/3 to 3/4 cup milk
2 to 3 tablespoons Caramel Sauce
1 1/2 cups partially frozen blueberries
1/2 cup pralines and cream ice cream
Place all the ingredients in a blender and mix by using the on/off pulse function until the ingredients are mostly blended. Continue mixing, gradually increasing the speed, until the mixture is smooth. Pour the smoothie into a glass and garnish with Berries on a Skewer (see Great Garnishes), if desired.
