This is the best Italian Dog recipe on the web!! "If you don't have the long toothpicks, sometimes called sandwich picks, stick toothpicks through both sides of the bun into the hot dog." 1. Lay two paper towels on a microwavable plate. Place on the plate 1 hot dog. With a small sharp knife, cut diagonally across the top of the hot dog a few times. Don't cut all the way through. Lay a piece of waxed paper on top. 2. Microwave at 100% power (700 watts) for 45 seconds. Wait for 1 minute. 3. Mix in a small bowl, 1 tablespoon catsup and a dash of dried Italian herb seasoning. 4. Split open 1 hot dog bun. Spread inside with catsup mixture. 5. Cut 2 slices mozzarella cheese, each about 1/8 inch thick, 5 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. Place hot dog in bun. Lay pieces of cheese on both sides of hot dog. Stick several long toothpicks through bun and hot dog to hold it together. Wrap in a piece of waxed paper. 6.
