___ loaf french bread
___ cup butter or margarine, softened (MW)
___ to 1 teaspoon basil dried basil leaves, crushed
___ teaspoon garlic powder
___ cup parmesan cheese grated
Preheated oven to 375°.
Cut bread in half lengthwise; set aside.
In a medium bowl, mix butter, basil and garlic powder until blended. Spread on cut surface of bread. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Tightly wrap each piece of bread in foil.
Bake for 10 minutes. Open foil to uncover top surface. Turn oven temperature to broil. Heat bread in center of oven for 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese melts and edges are toasted.
Serve with spaghetti and meat sauce or creamed eggs over asparagus.
