_ cups water cold
_ cup grape juice unsweetened
___ cup dried apricots quartered
___ cup pitted prunes prunes
___ cup sugar
_ lemons thin ( 1/8 -inch thick) fresh
_ tablespoons tapioca quick-cooking
_ stick cinnamon (3-inch)
_ apple tart cooking, peeled, cored and chopped
_ tablespoons raisins
In a large saucepan, place water, grape juice, apricots, prunes, sugar, lemon, tapioca and cinnamon. Stir and let stand for 5 minutes. Over medium-high heat, bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add apple and raisins to saucepan; cover and simmer 10 minutes longer or until apple is tender, stirring occasionally. Cool for 30 minutes. Refrigerate overnight.
To serve, remove cinnamon stick and lemon slices. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
