    1 (18 1/4-ounce) box chocolate cake mix
   1/2 cup margarine
   1 (14-ounce) package caramels, unwrapped
   1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
   1 cup chopped pecans

Prepare cake according to package directions; pour 2 cups of batter into a greased 13" x 9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes; set aside. In a saucepan, melt margarine and caramels; remove from heat. Add milk; stir well. Pour over cake; spread remaining cake batter over caramel mixture. Sprinkle with pecans; bake for an additional 30 minutes. Cool before serving.
