Blonde Brownies

Ingredients

1/3 cup stick margarine
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray an 8 x 8-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

2. In a medium saucepan, melt the margarine. Add the sugar and stir until smooth and slightly cooked, 2 minutes. Blend in the egg. Add the vanilla, baking powder, and baking soda stir just to remove lumps. Add the flour and stir smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips.

3. Spread the batter in the prepared baking pan. Bake until the top is slightly set and lightly browned, 20 minutes do not over-bake.
