*Stress-Free Starters and Snacks

This chapter contains recipes that are easy for any occasion, from watching a Friday night video to entertaining by candlelight. Many of these recipes may be made in advance and refrigerated to have on hand whenever you get the urge! Keep in mind that you can use fresh veggies and fruits with any dip recipe that suggests chips or bread.

Be creative with the varieties of vegetables and fruits you use, too. For instance, use yellow squash or cucumbers cut diagonally instead of in sliced rounds, or blanch whole green beans or asparagus spears for dipping. Or hollow out the center of an acorn squash and fill it to the brim with dip for your next party. It’s an easy way to dress up your table.

These recipes can go away from home, too! Try taking them to work or tossing them in a lunch bag for a nice change. And healthy snacks sure come in handy when you see those fast food billboards flashing by on long car trips. Just pack them in disposable plastic containers and you’re on your way.
