Garlic Cheddar Biscuits


Serves: 12

I've made this biscuit recipe for 37 years and they always comes out soft and fluffy.

Yield: 12 biscuits
Prep Time: 15 min
Cook Time: 10 min

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 cup cold butter
2/3 cup milk
1 cup shredded, sharp cheddar cheese, divided
1/4 teaspoon California style garlic powder, plus extra for topping

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450°. Mix first 5 ingredients together well. Using a pastry blender or fork, cut butter into mix, until crumbly. Add 3/4 cup of the cheese and garlic powder and mix in. Add milk, and mix gently until a soft dough forms. Drop by tablespoonfulls onto a greased baking pan. Sprinkle with garlic powder and remaining cheese.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden.
