| 1/2 cup | butter |
| 1/2 cup | shortening Crisco |
| 1/4 cup | brown sugar |
| 1/4 teaspoon | salt |
| 1 cup | chopped pecans or walnuts |
| 1 teaspoon | vanilla extract |
| 2 cups | sifted flour (sift again) |
Hand mix. Cream butter and shortening into sugar and salt.
Add chopped nuts and vanilla and mix. Add flour and mix.
Using about 1 teaspoon of dough, shape into balls.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake in 350 degree until lightly browned--about 15 to 20 minutes.
While still warm, roll in superfine sugar.
